Hey, I'm Davious Solitair. I've been a Nuker long enough to hear the stories, and know a bit of the history of our Galaxy and the Armor we pilot. You wanna know more about it? Well, I'll give it my best shot.
Nobody around today knows for certain how the first NCA came about, but it's presumed to be around the 21st century. From what I've heard, the first Nukes were simple and not very maneuverable. At the time when it was developed, it's been said that Terra, the home world, was in turmoil. Every nation was at the brink of war, and governments were in chaos.
Now, from what I've been told, there was a Jihad of sorts, and it developed into world war. It was the largest the planet had ever seen, and more than half the population was lost in an incident when the two major countries resulted in nuclear combat, lobbing nuke cabable missiles at each other.
In the nuclear aftermath that followed, the people of Terra saw the error of their ways, and united into one nation, ruled by several appointed representatives. After a signing of a treaty, peace reigned for years, and eventually the people of Terra extended their reach beyond the planet and into the stars. In the years to come, 12 planets in the galaxy would be colonized, all under one banner, the United Terran Government. But while life was good among the stars, Terra was going down the drain.
Extensive use of natural resources was drying the planet up. Pollution plagued the atmosphere, and the planet waf overcrowded. Every day more and more people were leaving earth for other, more ideal planets, some even opting to live in colonies on mining asteroids. Soon the people of Terra, fearing the worst, abandoned the planet, now a lifeless chunk of rock.
The UTG eventually found a new base on a planet that was promptly named the United Terrain Government Head Quarters. While unimaginative, this name was to become a respected one, as the colonized planets under that banner were ruled justly from that planet.
But in every government there will be corruption, and this is where recorded history can detail.
In 4088 a scientist named Dietre Makovitsa discovered a strange crystal while mining an asteroid belt in the Shogun falls system. Dietre nicknamed it Dragon's Eye after its flame like quality. He studied the crystal in order to categorize it among the known elements, and eventually it found a spot on the periodic table as Gedium. however, in an experiment to cut the gem using a laser, Dragonite proved to have a strange quality. When a highly concentrated beam of light (laser) is focused on a Gedium crystal, it causes fusion. While the resulting reaction nearly killed Dietre, it solved the galaxy's need for a more reliable power source. Thus the corruption began.
The representatives of the four great states began to squabble. Each wanted their own Gedium mine as more and more asteroids turned up with the valuable crystal. Soon there were small engagements breaking out all over the galaxy, and the great UTG fell apart, the four states becoming four nations.
Each of the four representatives assumed power in these nations. Each nation had developed under a particular Terrain Heritage, and each rightly took a name that reflected that heritage: the New Celtic Republic; the Vlassov Republic; the United Terrain Government; the Kyodai Empire.
Soon after that, the Galaxy had become a battleground as each nation battled for control of Gedium mines. In the UTG, geno-experimentation led to the birth of morphs: genetically created half-human/half-animal warriors, each having a different special use on the battlefield. However, after proving too costly, the project was aborted, and morphs were eventually set free in the galaxy.
But morphs weren't the only thing that had changed. In the thousands of years since Terra, the human race had evolved and changed, becoming three distinct races: dwarf, elf, and human.
Today, 5038, the galaxy is still at war, and morphs are commonplace in every day society. We, NCA pilots, fight every day to preserve our nations' pride and heritage. It's a struggle for survival as every nation fights for control of Gedium and territory. Space exploration is almost non-existent with everyone's focus on survival.
So the question is who's side are you on?
Well, that's what I know, I hope I've helped. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a war to fight.
