Alright, new rules. I'm going to outline the new rules here before I modify/rewrite the entire ruleset.
First, let me make something clear. Heavy Arms, when it was first concieved under the generic name of Nukes, was intended to be an AOL chat based RPG utilizing AOL's dice roller option. However, that changed when I left AOL and moved to Yahoo. Since then I've wracked my brains trying to find a practical way of doing this game. Well, now thanks to dice roller script for proboards, the answer has come!
If you look in your "add tags" section above the text box when you post a reply or new thread, you'll notice a button with a die on it. If you click that you'll get a dice script, all you have to do is change the number in that script to the number of sides you wish to roll.
How about a 20 sided die? [dice=20]
That's it.
Alright, here are some outlines on the new rules.
- Forum play. The most important change. RP and battles will take place on the forum. If you wish to fight, challenge another player by sending them a private message. Once they've accepted start a thread in your designed combat zone (will create those boards soon).
- Making a character is up to the player, but before it can be posted, you must send it to an administrator. Currenly I'm the only admin here, so send your character sheets to me. I will scrutinize them and decide if they're done correctly. Then I will give you the go to post it in the profile section of your chosen nation.
-All the same combat rules apply, but this will be a one post at a time forum RPG. There will be no playing for the other person. When you attack, make your attack, state what it should do if it connects properly, then make your dice roll. It is up to your opponent to make a deffense roll and describe the outcome of the attack. Descriptive writing is a must here, so don't downplay an attack because you're lazy.
-The greatest advantage to forum RPG OMHO is that a battle can last as long as it takes, and both members can come in and post when they have time. However, there are going to be time restraints. If a match sits untouched for a certain amount of time (probably going to make it a month) the match will be nullified and deleted.
Also, you may only join one fight at a time. Until you are done with a battle you cannon accept any challenges.
-Mass battles will still be in the rules. For multiple oponants all players must roll a d20 before the fight to determine action order. Highest roll goes first, second highest next, and so forth. This does not apply to one on one challenges. When challenging another person, they get first attack by default (call it an issue of honor).

That's about it for now. Will edit the full rule-set when I've got time.[rand=7807081656787227648758664950429830408498051805699022634529732]
